Who
we are

Bridging the digital divide,
one laptop at a time.

Tech‑Takeback Foundation is a charity (CIO) dedicated to closing the digital divide and reducing e‑waste through the power of tech reuse. We take unwanted laptops, securely refurbish them, and place them directly into the hands of people who need them most; completely free of charge.

From students and jobseekers to refugees, disabled people, older adults, and survivors of domestic violence, we work with individuals and community partners to ensure everyone can participate in the digital world, not just those who can afford it.

Digitally excluded

Who we are

22 million
Hoarded laptops

Tech‑Takeback originally began as a community service helping people dispose of old tech safely and responsibly. But as demand grew, it became clear that thousands of people were falling behind due to digital exclusion.

So in 2025, Tech‑Takeback Foundation was created, a dedicated charity focused on digital inclusion, social impact, and sustainability. Today, we operate as a circular economy, community‑powered model for reuse, repair, and empowerment.

Where we started

Reduce digital exclusion
Ensuring everyone can access education, employment, healthcare, connection and opportunity.

Reuse technology sustainably
Extending the life of devices and keeping valuable materials out of landfill. If a device can't be reused, we'll disassemble it for parts, resource recovery and responsible recycling.

Generate measurable social value
Each rehomed laptop creates opportunities, builds resilience and strengthens communities.

Champion a circular approach
Proving that reuse isn’t just better for the planet ; it’s better for people too.

Our mission

Our values

Inclusion
Technology should empower, not exclude.

Dignity
Everyone deserves access to the tools that support independence and opportunity.

Trust
We take data security, confidentiality and ethical practice seriously.

Community
We work hand‑in‑hand with charities, local groups and businesses.

Sustainability
Reuse first. Recycle only when absolutely necessary.

How we work

Our impact

Every donated laptop enables:

  • A young person to succeed in education

  • A survivor to rebuild safely

  • An older adult to stay connected

  • A jobseeker to upskill and find work

  • A refugee to continue their studies

  • A person with long-term illness to access healthcare from home

And with every reuse, we reduce carbon emissions, extend product life, and conserve valuable materials.
