Digital access should never be a barrier to education, work, independence or connection. Through our Laptops for All scheme, we provide free refurbished laptops, tailored to individual needs, to people who face financial, social or practical barriers to getting online.

Whether you’re applying for yourself or referring someone else, we aim to make the process simple, supportive and dignified.

Who can apply?

✔ You don’t have access to a working laptop or computer

This includes: no device, shared device, broken device, or a device that no longer meets your needs.

✔ You’re facing financial hardship

If buying a laptop would cause financial stress, you qualify — no detailed evidence required.

✔ You need a laptop for:

  • education or training

  • job searching or employment

  • accessing benefits or support services

  • healthcare and telehealth

  • staying in touch with family

  • rebuilding independence

  • managing daily life

You can apply if two or more of the following apply to you (or someone you’re supporting):

✔ You live in the UK

Priority goes to Brighton & Hove and London, but we support applicants nationwide.

✔ You can self‑refer or be referred

We accept referrals from:

  • charities & community groups

  • health and social care workers

  • housing officers

  • schools, colleges and universities

  • caseworkers and support professionals
Or you can apply on your own behalf.

How it works

1. Tell us about yourself

Our application form helps us understand how a laptop will support you. No intrusive questions, just what we genuinely need to know.

2. Fair and quick assessment

We prioritise based on need, not proof or paperwork.

3. Receive your refurbished laptop

If approved, you’ll receive a fully refurbished, ready‑to‑use device.

4. Access optional support

Digital skills training can help you:

  • get online

  • understand your device

  • use accessibility tools

  • stay safe and protected online

5. A quick check‑in at 6 months

Just to see how you’re getting on. This helps us improve our service and secure funding; it won’t affect your device.

Why we do this

Digital exclusion affects every part of life, education, employment, healthcare, finances, mental wellbeing, and connection. A laptop can:

  • unlock opportunities

  • build confidence

  • support recovery

  • reduce isolation

  • strengthen communities

  • make daily life more manageable

Every laptop we give out is a step towards a more connected, equal and sustainable world.

Our promise

Your information is confidential

  • We will never share your data

  • No judgement, no stigma

  • Devices are always free

  • Support continues after you receive your laptop
